Ella visited and interviewed everyone she could who knew how Wharton (Mac) Collinge died. This is her record.

Lieutenant Wharton Rye Collinge, 2nd/6th (Rifle) Bn. The King's (Liverpool Regiment), died of gas poisoning 7th August 1917 and is buried in Merville Communal Cemetery.
