A letter written to Beatrice the night before he set out for France, found with his son Gordon's belongings after his death in 1987. It refers to a previous financial disaster in the family, and his own possible death.
Editor's Comment:
His name is erroneously spelt 'Bromwick' on his medal card, held by the National Archives.
Private 356170 Albert J. Bromwich, 2nd Battalion Highland Light Infantry, died of wounds 10th April 1918. The son of Oliver and Sarah Bromwich, of Two Mile Hill, Kingswood, Bristol, and husband of Beatrice Bromwich, of 533, Bath Rd., Brislington, Bristol, he is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery.
