Another photograph taken around this time in Spalding shows Walter standing with his brother. Walter was in the Kings Own Royal Lancaster Regiment 2/5th Bat, and Fred was in the Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby) Reg.
They must have been on leave together because Walter had joined up in Lancaster in 1914, but Fred did not join up till April 1916 in Lincoln.
