Walter had obviously been home on leave, and was telling his mother he had got back to his camp safely.
Walter wrote
"Dear Mother
Arrived safe about 6.30. I stayed in Spalding tiil 11 because it was a fast train to Kings X. The boys said they wished I had brought some strawberries
Yours Wally"
The year is just visible on the postmark. I guess the month because he mentioned strawberries, which they grew at their farm.
