The photograph shows Thomas Atkinson with his mother (Elizather Atkinson), brother (Jim Atkinson, to the left), and baby sister (Mary Atkinson). the photograph was taken whilst the family awaited the return of the Royal Navy ship, the 'Leviathian', to Portsmouth harbour in 1917, on which their father (James Atkinson) served as a stoker.
