Viewed from Joncourt Church Cemetery. The ridge forms the Beaurevoir-Fronsomme line attacked by the 2nd Manchesters on October 1st 1918. The attack came from the right hand side of the valley. It was the successful attack on these machine gun emplacements that won Owen his military cross.
