Taken from the site of the Beaurevoir-Fonsomme Line, initially known as the ""Hindenburg Support Line"" looking south-west, just outside Joncourt. The valley is the location where Owen advanced with the 2nd Manchesters at 8.30am on 29th September 1918 and won his Military Cross decoration.
