Photograph of a group of men, including Ralph Readhead, with a small girl. The men are mostly, but not all, in uniform. Several have their arms in slings, and some are brandishing sticks. The photograph is labelled "Helsby Cheshire after the Battle of the Somme 1915". Ralph Readhead spent time in the Auxilliary Military Hospital, Helsby after being wounded in the arm in 1915 (though the battle commonly known as the Somme did not occur until the following year). Part of a collection relating to Ralph William Readhead of the 4th East Yorks.
