The road from Ypres to Sint-Juliaan in the distance, (St. Julien as it was known to the British). Behind the photographer is a farm near the site of the farm known to the troops as Cheddar Villa.""Silent pickets"" or posts for barbed wire can be seen holding up the farm's fence.
