These items relate to Edward Lester (1898-1967) who was a prisoner of war. His injuries were slight but kept him out of the Second World War.


Editor's Comment:
Card giving details of Pte. Lester's wound, in German and English: 'Part of the right side of the breast [?] (machine gun)'.

Private 5263 Edward William Lester, 16th Lancers, was taken prisoner having been wounded by Machine Gun fire.
