55889: The St Quentin Canal looking south

On 29 September - 2 October 1918, the Battle of the St. Quentin Canal was fought. Wilfred Owen and the 2nd Manchesters crossed the canal a little way south of the Riqueval Bridge on the 29th and by the late evening were in position at Magny la Fosse ready for the forthcoming attack on the Beaurevoir-Fonsomme, Joncourt.
