<p dir="ltr">Herbert Edward Freestone, centre, was born 29th February 1880 at Hadfield, Derbyshire. He was a private soldier in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. </p> <p>Herbert Freestone was invalided out before the end of the war and lived until 1956. </p> <p><br>Editor's Comment:<br> Privates of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, equipped with the Pattern 1914 Infantry Equipment, and armed with Charger Loading Lee Enfield rifles, with fixed Bayonets.</p>
