Ernest Sewell (known as Fred) served in the Royal Engineers and survived the war - he is the soldier at the front of the photograph wearing a scarf - I do not know the names of the other soldiers. Ernest Frederick Sewell was born in Middleton Cheney 1886-1960. He lived and died in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Editor's Comment:
Photograph taken at the front in 1914 or 1915, as Service Dress Caps are worn. Note also the Wellington Boots, Cap Comforters, and scarf.
