Women watching from a ridge, likely 1915, either Gallipoli area, Mudros Island or Lemnos. This photograph was most probably taken, or perhaps collected, by 494 Sergeant Joseph Cecil Thompson of the 9th Battalion 1st AIF during his service at Galliopli and in Egypt.
Editor's Comment: The 9th Bn., as part of 3rd Brg. Australian Imperial Force, were the first to land at the ANZAC beachead on Gallipoli, 25th April 1915.
