<p dir="ltr">Cecil Leslie Morgan was born 22 April 1899 in Bermondsey. He left school in 1912 and was indentured as an apprentice Cooper on 5th May 1913.</p> <p>12 April 1917 - Cecil joined up at Rotherhithe Town Hall to fight in WW1 and was declared medically A1. As Priv</p> <p>Brief biographical details of Pte. Cecil Leslie Morgan (22 April 1899 - 30 November 1963) and a transcript of the account he wrote, after returning home, of his time as a prisoner of war. This is interspersed with transcripts of the postcards and letters he sent home during his captivity [shown in square brackets]. Compiled from original documents held in family records by his daughter and granddaughter.</p>
