Cecil Leslie Morgan was born 22 April 1899 in Bermondsey. He left school in 1912 and was indentured as an apprentice Cooper on 5th May 1913.

Brief biographical details of Pte. Cecil Leslie Morgan (22 April 1899 - 30 November 1963) and a transcript of the account he wrote, after returning home, of his time as a prisoner of war. This is interspersed with transcripts of the postcards and letters he sent home during his captivity [shown in square brackets]. Compiled from original documents held in family records by his daughter and granddaughter.
