The nurses cape of Bessie Marks, QARNS (Queen Alexandra's Royal Nursing Service), Sister at Whalley Range Military Hospital ? dates 1916 - 1918 and cap of her brother Jack Marks, Coldstream Guards, died 08.10.1915 commemorated on Loos memorial.

Editor's Comment:
Field Service Cap in regimental colours (dark blue piped with red); grey nursing cape bordered in red; a Victory medal.

Pte. 13193 John Edgar Marks, 3rd Bn. Coldstream Guards, killed in action 8th October 1915, is commemorated on the Loos Memorial. The 3rd Bn, part of the Guards Division, was defending the line against a German counter offensive launched that day following the Battle of Loos.
