Sir Reginald Wingate inspected the 7th Manchesters soon after their arrival in the Sudan.

Editor's Comment:
Pte. 2393 John Clarke Morten, 1/7th Bn. Manchester Regiment, was commissioned Second Lieutenant and later attached to the Royal Air Force.
