The 7th Manchesters paraded in front of Sir Reginald Wingate, the Sirdar in the Sudan.

Editor's Comment:
A regiment of native cavalry (lancers) from the same parade.

Pte. 2393 John Clarke Morten, 1/7th Bn. Manchester Regiment, was commissioned Second Lieutenant and later attached to the Royal Air Force.
