Norman was orphaned 2 years later and went to live with his aunt Annie who with her husband Lawrence Crisp compiled the postcard collection from which this card comes.

Editor's Comment:
Sailing ship filled with flowers, flowers surrounding: 'To My Dear Son'.

Private 9089 Ernest Straughan, East Yorkshire Regiment, later served with the West Yorkshire Regiment (Service No. 67452).
