Editor's Comment:
'Unit Register Card', with the service and employment details of Sapper E. Grantham. Part of the paperwork required by Army Demobilization Instructions - France, which decreed that those with certain key trades were to have priority in being returned to England.

Sapper 146217 Ernest Grantham, 156th Field Company, Royal Engineers. The 156th Field Coy. were attached to the 16th (Irish) Division.
