Page torn from a notebook, "Raid Operations" written by Sergeant Charles W. Carr, of 2/5th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment on August 19th. If this was written in 1917 then it is just 2-3 days before Charles was seriously wounded - shot in the legs by machine gun bullets - during the the attack of the 2/5th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment on Pond Farm during the battle of Paschendale.

Part of large collection of photos and memoribilia relating to Serjeant 3091 (later 240965) Charles Woodward Carr, 2/5th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment - kept by Mrs Gill Porter and Mr Tony Carr of their father.
