A very worn photo of Albert in the hospital at Etaples, shortly before his death, the last known one taken of him. He is probably the one in the second bed. Found with his son's belongings in 1987.
Editor's Comment:
His name is erroneously spelt 'Bromwick' on his medal card, held by the National Archives.
Private 356170 Albert J. Bromwich, 2nd Battalion Highland Light Infantry, died of wounds 10th April 1918. The son of Oliver and Sarah Bromwich, of Two Mile Hill, Kingswood, Bristol, and husband of Beatrice Bromwich, of 533, Bath Rd., Brislington, Bristol, he is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery.
