<p dir="ltr">Editor's Comment: H.M.S. "Lanark" was a paddlewheel Improved Racecourse Class Minesweeper. She was launched in December 1917. The photographs cannot date to the first day of the war; perhaps they date to the day of her commissioning.</p>
