52679: Cigarette case belonging to Lt Leonard George Maddox MC and bar

This cigarette case was part of the effects of Lt Leonard George Maddox MC of 1/22nd Battalion London Regiment "The Queen's", who was killed on 30th August 1918 at Combles, France. My father, Pt Sidney Frank Hewett MM, who was beside him when he died, returned the effects to his family and was given the cigarette case inscribed in his memory in thanks. (I inherited the case from my father and this photograph was taken by me.)
