The certificate of identity tells us he received an advance of £2 and was to 'rejoin in case of emergency' at Heaton Park Manchester. He ended his time in the army at the Dispersal Unit, Harrowby Camp, Grantham and went home to live with his mother and work with his one remaining brother (2 had died) at North Farm, Gedney Hill, Lincs.
