First Southern General Hospital, May 1915. Postcard sent to my grandmother by her brother Frank (Francis James Comley, b 17 May 1895, d 9 Jan 1964).

My grandmother Gwendoline Lobb (nee Comley) was born on 11 November 1891 and died on 30 July 1981. She also had an older sister, Elsie.

Editor's Comment: Pte. 2411 Francis James Comley, Cheshire Regiment.

Postcard sent to my grandmother by Frank, who is standing on the right in this portrait. Postmark is Cambridge 11 February 1915.

Editor's Comment: Two soldiers of the Cheshire Regiment, wearing the obsolete (for infantry) bandoliers of the pattern 1903 equipment, reissued as an emergency measure during the war for training.
