Contains brief summary of my grandfather's wartime service as a motorcycle despatch rider in Duke of Westminster's Armoured Car Division and motor machine gunner in Motor Machine Gun Corps, plus extracts from his diary on training, volunteering, active service and the horror of the trenches. Also an image of the embroidery of his unit badge which he did whilst recovering in hospital after losing his leg.
Editor's Comment:
Gunner Andrew James Rudolf Watts, No. 2 Squadron, Royal Naval Armoured Car Division (raised by the Duke of Westminster), later Machine Gun Corps (Motors), service no. 2080.
