John Hobosn was born at Clifton-with-Norwood, Yorkshire, a village 5 miles west of Harrogate. He was a agricultural worker who joined the Yorkshire Light Infantry.
Pte John Hobson was killed in action at La Chavette, France on 11 August 1918. He was 36 years old.
John Hobson was a single man and the commerative scroll was sent to his mother. The scroll has been 'handed down' through decendants of one of his sisters. It is currently held by one of his great,great,great nephews.
