Photograph and Pass for Corporal 74567 Jack Barker, 2nd Signals Coy. Royal Engineers, 4th Bde. 2nd Division. He was a motorcycle despatch rider with the Signals and talked of Ypres, Arras and Doullongs Sur Mare. He subsequently had a family of his own, helped build Spitfires during WW2 and maintained a love of motorcycles and cars until his death in June 1975.

Editor's Comment:
Cpl. Barker is pictured with a 550 cc Triumph Model 'H'.

Pass no. 9120 as stamped by Assistant Provost Marshal, for the period 1st December 1917 to 28th February 1918.

Cpl. Barker appears to have transferred sometime after this pass was issued into the Tank Corps, receiving a Second Lieutenant's commission.
