<p dir="ltr">This dummy was used at the camouflage school at Kensington Gardens to teach about a device used by the enemy on different parts of their front. Similar dummies were dressed in capured khaki to appear like British soldiers. These were placed in no-man's-land and by means of a cord an arm was raised as if for assistance. Sometimes the dummy was made to sit up. Generally the head was bound up in bandages. The idea was to lure British troops to effect a rescue.</p>
