Because of the position of the camera this is probably a staged trench scene or troops under training. The troop are kilted, with bayonets fixed,and are viewed going 'over the top'. Notice that the Officers go over last. The trench is quite rough, but it has wattle hurdle and wooden stake revetting at its rear. Filmed at Martinpuich.
