Graves' note in his library copy of "Over the Brazier" states:"Written in Annezin in October 1915 by a glass of Curacoa [sic], a fortnight after Loos" The poem is, however, in Part I (1910 - 1914) of "Over the Brazier" rather than Part II (1915) and is included within this collection at Buffalo in a group of manuscripts dated 1912.
