<p dir="ltr">Four sons of William Richard Amor and Sarah Lucy Amor all fought at the Battle of the Somme and all four survived. </p><p dir="ltr">Private Arthur Joseph Amor (my grandfather), born 1898: 8th Battalion Yorks and Lancs Italian Expeditionary Force 1916-1921. </p><p dir="ltr">Lt Stanley George Amor, born 1896: Wiltshire Regiment and later Royal Flying Corps 1915-1919. </p><p dir="ltr">Private Harold Geoffrey Amor, born 1894: refused to fight and so went with the Royal Army Medical Corps as a stretcher bearer. </p><p dir="ltr">LCpl Edgar William Amor, born 1892: Enlisted 8th Battalion Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry, survived the Somme but died in Salonica in 1918 and buried in Sofia War Cemetery.</p>
