Frank Haynes was born in 1885 and worked as a brewer for his mother, the landlady of The Dog Public House in Dunley near Areley Kings on the outskirts of Stourport-on-Severn.
After enlisting in the British Army, he served in the Dardanelles campaign and later as a hospital orderly.
After being discharged from the army, Frank suffered from shellshock and later attempted to murder two men who visited The Dog. As a result, he was sentenced to Broadmoor Mental Institution where he died in 1935.
