online resource
posted on 2024-01-15, 08:59 authored by Lest We Forget Project Team

Tom Taylor served with the British Army in South and East Africa during the First World War.

The pith helmet he was issued with was used to record the various locations he served in as he wrote them down on the inside, including periods of time in hospital during 1918.

His wife, Jessie, recorded every letter she sent to Tom and every letter she received from him in some detail in a notebook from 1916 onwards.
