<p dir="ltr">Arthur joined the army in 1914. He was sent to fight in Palestine where he was part of the mounted artillery. TE Lawrence stole Arthur's horse called Gladys whilst in Palestine because he liked the look of it! </p><p dir="ltr">After the war there was some evidence that he had PTSD. He married in 1919.</p>
