4033: Albert Hampshire Buckroyd

online resource
posted on 2024-01-16, 17:20 authored by Lest We Forget Project Team

Albert Hampshire Buckroyd served in France in WW1. The contributor has tried to look online for his service records but hasn't found anything. The artefacts include a postcard from Albert in France with the location of the church scribbled out by the censor. The clock is French and perhaps the mountings show it was used in a vehicle. The contributor used it at home for years and it was Albert's job to wind it up. One postcards also show a fakir and has an Indian stamp, another is from Chile but appears to be post WW1.
