3538: George Keppie

2 photographs of Jim's father, George Paterson Keppie, who served with the Royal Scots, 9th battalion ("Dandy Ninth") as a private, before becoming an officer and reaching the rank of Lieutenant. The photo was taken while the soldiers were awaiting orders/inspection by Sir Arthur Fitzroy Paget. Location unknown, on the Western Front.

Also newspaper report re Arthur Ernest Keppie, cousin to George, served with the Australian Army, died at Gallipoli, as did George's brother, James Keppie.
