Pte., 201405, Walter Newbound, younger son of Mr William Newbound, 72 Chatham Street, Newark-on-Trent. Born 1894. Educated at the Mount School and after leaving there worked for Mr Walter Clutterbuck, butcher, Bridge Street. Later employed as a sawyer at Messrs. Smiths' Saw Mills, London Road. Attended the North End Wesleyan Church and Sunday School. Joined the Royal Scots Fusiliers on April 10th, 1916 and went out to France on June 1st, 1917. Posted missing during the attack on Hill 40 near Zonnebeke and declared dead in July 1918.
