The correspondence is between Sub Lt Temple and Henry Montagu Doughty of Theberton Hall, Leiston, Suffolk. (He later added 'Wylie' and was then styled Henry Montagu Doughty-Wylie.) His brother was Lieutenant Colonel Charles Hotham Montagu "Richard" Doughty-Wylie, VC, CB, CMG (23 July 1868 - 26 April 1915. Buried overlooking 'V' Beach, Gallipoli.) Also in the collection is a letter from King George V expressing sympathy on the death of Percy's father James Temple, an artist and old angling friend of the King.
