One benefit of the lockdown is that there are no in-person events I have to attend, so sleeping in is much more of a viable option, being able to sleep in until 2pm barring any deadlines I have to complete. One downside to the lockdown (especially since it's summer) is that time has become a near meaningless concept for me, and I end up staying up till 4 or 5 am. Besides sleeping I do still have to do work assigned by the school seeing as they decided to continue as a virtual term. Outside of that however, the day is lost in a haze of TV, games, reading, cooking, eating and exercising.
History
Message for the future
Lockdown was great and fun for the first couple weeks, it felt like a vacation. Then you kinda become aimless as you can't go out or do anything or meet up with anyone. When work started again, it gives you a sense of purpose, but then you realize maybe working from home isn't all that great, especially if you have a hard time separating your personal life and your work life and had up until then depended on physical changes in location/scenery to enforce that distinction. Not to say there aren't any perks. Given how much free time you have and the lack of in-person engagements you have to meet, your schedule becomes much more flexible and you have time to do the things youve always wanted to do but never got the chance to. Although the food delivery bills really start to stack up, especially once you realize all the fuss that's required to go to the grocery store and still keep safe from the virus. All in all not that bad, though I do feel bad that I had to miss the last term of my 1st year in college.
About the picture(s)
They show my sofa, my kitchen table and the view outside my balcony. Seeing as most of my waking hours are spent staring at this exact view (albeit with a screen usually in the way) I figured it sums up my lockdown experience best.
