Artefacts relating to Captain C. R. Gorell Barnes, The Rifle Brigade. Letter - to great Charles' father, Sir Frederic Gorell Barnes, to award him his medal. Medals - Captain Gorell Barnes' medals. He went abroad from the 1st January 1915. Medal for distinguished service for gallantry. Cigarette case took a bullet that injured him. Wooden cross that was taken from the grave by the family before being replaced with a stone.
