I miss seeing family - most of mine live in London and I'm not allowed to travel to see them. My mother is carefully locked down in her care home, so there's no question of visiting her. One lovely carer lets us use her WhatsApp account to video-call, which sometimes works if they have remembered to switch off the TV and checked that Granny has her hearing aids in. She finds the small moving pictures on the phone difficult to understand, but we both enjoy hearing one another's voices even if we only exchange easy-to-understand platitudes.

About the picture(s)

The family went to visit Granny in her care home, shouting over the wall from the car park. Granny doesn't understand why everyone can't come and give her a hug. (Notice the bunting in the background - the care home staff have made VE Day a special time for our seniors)
