31866: A Whole Change of Life
The lockdown has meant a whole change of life. Not least of which is the kids at home all the time and getting them used to lessons at home. Fortunately for me, my wife is handling that for the most part.
Actively taking walks - I like walking, but rarely would I 'go for a walk'. My public transport daily journey, plus lunchtime sandwich runs, usually takes me to 6-8000 steps a day. Not any more, now I actually'go for a walk'. I've seen roads and paths not seen before. And the etiquette of passing with 2m distance seems to be sporadically observed.
Queuing for the supermarket - Queuing to get into the supermarket was strange. The staff trying their hardest to not get moaned at by ungrateful customers, and trying their hardest to not get Covid-19. Queues outside for everything now: supermarkets, value stores, pharmacies, off-licenses.
Shaving - I'm not trying to grow a beard. It just kind of appeared when I stopped bothering to shave for a while. But I am trimming it so I look like I don't live under a bridge (as I am fortunate enough to not need to live under a bridge).
Online meetings - I've always been a fan of Nexus Teams meetings, and now they've come into their own. They are usually productive and the tool is excellent. But it has brought unexpected side-effects: people in silhouette, cats on keyboards, "you need to unmute", kids' shouts in the background. And, of course, TEAMS BACKGROUNDS.
