As mentioned in another submission, wearing face masks is not yet required in Britain, but it's good to be prepared.

History

Message for the future

There is some controversy about wearing face masks, since the corona virus is not airborne. Some say only infected people need to wear a mask to avoid spreading droplets; however I think that some sort of protection over the nose and mouth would help if an unmasked infected person were to get too close to you.

About the picture(s)

An existing airplane sleep mask makes a reasonable face mask worn over the nose and mouth. The little gusset (intended for the bridge of the nose when used for sleeping) makes a good 'breathing channel' when the nose is covered. The elastic tends to slip too low down (around the neck), so I secure it with two hair grips at the back of my head.
