Emlyn James from Llandrindod joined the Herefordshire Regiment in September 1914. He served in Gallipoli, Egypt and Palestine, and the Western Front. He returned to the UK on home leave in August 1918. Soon after returning to the front he was wounded at Ypres in September 1918 and was in hospital when the war ended. This paybook starts in June 1918 when the Herefordshire Regiment was preparing to leave Palestine and continues through to August 1918.
