3054: Charles McCann

Charles McCann served with the East Lancs Regiment from 1902-5. He then went into the reserves before being recalled in 1914. He received the 1914 star. He wrote a diary of his time in France. He was in the Battle of Mons and subsequent retreat. At some point he was gassed and then transferred into another regiment - maybe Worcs. He later transferred to the Hamps Regiment. He was a sergeant in the Worcester Regiment - 49465. He was discharged in 1919. He was a postman in Bradford.
