2523: Pte Walter Goldthorpe

Pte Walter Goldthorpe was a member of the 2nd Bradford Pals. He died on the first day of the Battle of the Somme and is commemorated by CWGC on the Thiepval Memorial. He died of his wounds and is possibly buried as an unknown soldier in Euston Road Cemetery. His name is on the Marshfield Old Scholars Roll of Honour.
