2500: Grandmother's Tea Cosy

online resource
posted on 2024-01-12, 09:30 authored by Lest We Forget Project Team

My grandmother was sent a tea cosy from Ypres by one of her two serving brothers during WW1. I don't know which brother sent it. Neither of the brothers survived the war. Frederick William Charles Witterick, Machine Gun Corps., died on 21/3/1918 and commemorated at the Arras Memorial. The other brother, Corporal Henry John Thomas Witterick, Machine Gun Corps., died on 16 August 1917 and is commemorated at Tyne Cot Memorial.
