2387: Edwin Percy and James Arthur Stead

Edwin Percy Stead was KIA on 11.10.1918 by a shell at Narves. He served with the 5th Battalion of the West Yorkshire Regiment. He's buried at Niagara Cemetery in France. The inscription on his headstone reads 'See ye to it that they shall not have died in vain.' James Arthur Stead was killed in action on 9.8.1918. He's buried in Vielle Chappelle New Military Cemetery, France. The inscription on his headstone reads 'See ye to it that they shall not have died in vain.' This matches the inscription on the headstone to his brother.
